Essential Functions: Human Resource Management: 1. Selects, and assigns department staff by flexing staffing according to changes in workload. 2. Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel action. 3. Supervise personnel qualified to perform steps necessary to achieve quantitative and/or qualitative analysis of patient specimens. 4. Ensuring that personnel observe and comply with health and safety policies, procedures, practices and program elements, as provided in company policy and associated procedures. 5. Oversee training and orientation of new staff. 6. Assist with competency assessments according to policies and procedures. Financial Administration 1. Assist IRL/POC Manager with departmental budget. 2. Look for opportunities to decrease costs and maximize resources Critical and Analytical Thinking: 1. Ensure that critical review of all analytical results for patient data is performed before release of data. 2. Answer questions and resolve problems relating to assays performed, troubleshooting or lead/coach others in troubleshooting, as needed. 3. Identify problems when control values are unacceptable. Take appropriate corrective action to resolve the problem. 4. Assist with the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures. 5. Oversee IRL quality control program. 6. Maintain IRL quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Planning: 1. Assist in scheduling and maintaining analytical material inventories, readiness of analytical equipment, and prompt dispatch of released results. 2. Assist with making recommendations for new equipment, procedures, and techniques with appropriate documentation of benefits to the laboratory CPMC Citizenship: Adheres to all Medical Center policies and procedures (i.e. Administrative and Human Resources), practices safe work habits, and engages in good business standards and practices. Other Job Functions: 1. Performs and shares all of the job responsibilities designated for the position of Point of Care Coordinator, Medical Technologist 1 and 2. 2. Assist and maintain supply ordering, labeling and inventory for the department. Notify manager when supplies need to be reordered. 3. Demonstrate and maintain CPMC attendance and punctuality standards. 4. Follow all CPMC compliance and service standards 5. Comply with health and safety policies, procedures, practices and program elements, as provided in CPMC policy and associated procedures and health and safety manual and promote others' adherence to same policies. 6.
